June 29, 2025 154226 miles Oil pressure was reading low at idle after laps at the track. Like rally low. Instead of trying to find out why I figured I’d illustrate up the weight of the oil to 5w40 instead of 5w30 and see what happens. What could possibly go wrong?

Day 01 – L33 and 4l60e are inside
Was able to bring the engine and trans into the shop to start the separation and rebuild process. Things went smoothly was able to remove the wiring harness, detach the transmission , and mount the engine into the engine stand. Engine Stand
A friend found a used 5.3LS engine for me. It’s not in great shape but got me thinking more about doing a LS swap. Picked up this engine stand from Princess Auto to start taking the LS engine apart.
